Happy Weekend Everyone!
Today I want to quickly share something near and dear to my heart. Over my little break, it became apparent to me here on This, That & Life, that I’ve said that Giving Back to others is important, but I haven’t done a very good job of highlighting that. Yikes ~ that needs to change!
So, with that in mind, today I’d like to share an organization called the Two Feet Project that is using Sports to help the youth of Kenya and make a difference for the future. And when you look further, Sports is a perfect catalyst for impacting change.
When you take a look at their website, you can see why this is so important and impactful. Some quick quotes below:
- “Sports are a powerful tool, and can play a pivotal role in the development of an individual, and ultimately, in the development of countries and societies.”
- “Kenyan society is primarily a youth culture, with 64% of the population under the age of 25.”
- “- Unemployment rate for youth (15-24) = 1 in 4
- More than half of those in prison are aged 16-25
- Out of all primary students (elementary) → 45% Advance to secondary (high school) → 9.8% Advance to University”
I personally know the founder, Stephen Ishmael, and I have been to some of the regions where him and his team are working to bring change. Here I am, years ago, in Kenya after having my hair braided by some of the girls {ah, memories}:
The Mission Statement of The Two Feet Project is as follows:
The Two Feet Project also has high accountability in how the money that is donated is used.
“We want each person who donates to Two Feet Project to know exactly where their money is going. So we’re dedicated to fulfilling the promise that 100% of your donation will go directly to funding our mentorship and sports programs in Kenya. Not a dime will go to administrative costs. It’s your money, and our promise. And because of our CORE Donors, we can ensure that your gift is used to have the most impact!”
Will you please consider donating to the Two Feet Project today?
$10, $20, $50 or more will make a HUGE difference!
If so, you can check out their donation link HERE.
There are also other ways to Get Involved, and you can
follow the Two Feet Project on Facebook and Twitter too.
Thanks so much to all of my AMAZING readers, and I hope you have an awesome weekend!
See you back here next week for that bookshelf tutorial and some other fun projects!

what a great program to promote!
Thanks Cassie! I really do think so too!
I love this! Everyone needs to know about these sorts of things. My husband and I are currently in the process of adopting from Ethiopia; I’m still working on getting our blog up and running, but I’m hoping to highlight different organizations there that we’re familiar with. Check out our page: http://www.facebook.com/FromHereToEthiopia.
Sounds like a wonderful organization! It’s great to promote it from your blog. You can reach so many people that way! I was in Ghana 5 yrs ago on a medical mission trip and it was SO wonderful. I hope I can go back to Africa one day.
