Hey there lovely readers of This, That, and Life!

My name is Jennifer and I am the creator of Blissfully Ever After, a blog where I share my story, tips and ideas on living a happy, healthy, and wealthy life. I’d love to have you stop by
sometime! Well, I absolutely adore Anneke!! Did you know…her and I both live in
the Pacific Northwest? Small world, right? It is cold up here for us…but this
area is truly beautiful and I highly recommend you visit sometime, if you haven’t
already! I want to thank Anneke for having me on her awesome blog today, and I
am honored and excited to share a few of my favorite things with you all.

This is my family and I….I love these two boys with all my heart. My hubby and I are a
DIY team and have literally done everything in our current and previous home
DIY {do-it-yourself}. We remodel, build furniture, landscape, and all the
in-betweens and share tutorials and ideas over at our blog.

As you get to know me, you will understand my obsession with the following things….
CHALKBOARD anything! It just has a cool look doesn’t it?
I recently made DIY chalkboard labels {Martha Stewart knockoffs} and you can
read about them on the blog
HERE.
So far we have 3 gallery walls in our home and I am working on a 4th in
our newly storage room turned playroom. Why do I love them so much? Gallery
walls are a great way to display your best memories, they look cool, and do not
have to be perfect….level yes, but I can put together a hodge podge of things
and make it look stylish. You can check out our family room gallery wall HERE.
Cottage and farmhouse kitchens have me DROOLING! My kitchen is still stuck in the early
1990’s {picture orange woodgrain cabinets, outdated everything, and boring}, so
every time I see a beautiful white, bright, and cottagy kitchen, I fall in love
{and am a little envious too}.
My hubby and I have been working hard to save, we’ve been planning, picking out
floor plans, trying to find a piece of land, and praying that we find the
perfect place to build our next home. We have our eye on something similar to
the Northwest Craftsman look above or a Craftsman Cottage. Our goal is to plant a
large garden in the backyard, have a couple chickens, a shop, and an awesome
landscaped yard so our home becomes our haven and we can be more
self-sufficient. Stay tuned on our progress for this big project!

Pinterest has become my stylist. I got here for outfit ideas, beauty tips, etc. and I
love that I can keep all my ideas organized in one place. These are some of my
favorite outfits above…although I am still working on getting some cute new
items in my wardrobe, I try my best to use what I have already to recreate what
I see in the pictures. You can check out my Fashion and Beauty pin board HERE.

Our family is also HUGE advocates of living simply and that less is more. We teach
courses both locally and online to other families who are looking to live debt
free and build wealth and a prosperous future for their families. You are
welcome to join us and read our story HERE a
nd I have pinned lots of ideas on my Pinterest board HERE.

See this little guy above?
I am a little obsessed with him. This picture is from his one year
photo shoot and he had so much personality coming through. A big thank you goes out to Diana Ariya Photography for capturing these moments for us!

My goal for 2013 is to date my husband more.
We get so busy in our daily routines, taking care of our son, his work schedule, me running 2 businesses, house
projects, church groups, community involvement….it’s easy to forget to really
take time for each other. So, we’ve dedicated at least one day at week for “date
night” where we do different activities to keep our marriage fun, interesting,
and alive. It could be a coffee date and walk in the park, hiking, a bike ride,
dinner, a movie, taking a class together, and so on. I really encourage you to
date your husband. Shave your legs, put on your makeup, do your hair, get
dressed up and go do something just the two of you. It is so important and it
will help you two fall in love all over again.
And I can’t forget to mention that one of my newest passions is health and fitness.
Last year I lost 65 pounds after having my son and am working to lose about 15
more pounds to be at my “AFTER AFTER.” It has been a life changing, eye opening
experience to learn how to eat healthy, why exercise is essential, how to groom
our kids for success and health, and how to feel our best so we can give our
best to those we love. You can read about my weight loss journey and join my
challenge that starts February 11th HERE.

Well, I hope you’ve had fun getting to know me a little more.
Thank you so much Anneke for having me on your blog today!
