The name kind of says it all. I’m loving this smoothie recipe my hubby brought home from his fire department buddies. Thanks guys!
Really, if you search “Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie”, you’ll get tons of results, so this isn’t some awesome new recipe I invented or anything. But almost all of the recipes I found used milk, so I thought I’d at least share this yummy new fave of mine with you as an alternative. Quite frankly, I’ve been out of the smoothie scene since my berry-filled summer, and this is such a nice change to the sweetness of berries.
The ingredients are simple. I personally just kind of wing the measurements, but listed some suggestions here:
- 1-2 Fresh or Frozen Banana (I prefer frozen)
- 2 tbs Peanut Butter (I like Adam’s Creamy Peanut Butter – although the picture shows crunchy!)
- .5 tbs Honey
- .5 cup Crushed Ice
- 2 cups Water
- 1 serving Protein Powder (I’d love to try this one by the girls at Tone It Up!)
Just blend all of the ingredients together and you’re done. Simple, yummy, and surprisingly filling!
Not to mention our kiddos love it too!
You can experiment with the ratio of ingredients to find what you like.
Have you tried a smoothie like this before?
Let me know what you think if you give it a try!
