Hello Monday and hope you had a great weekend!
First off, I’d like to start off today with a bit of a disclaimer: Over the next two weeks you will be seeing a significantly higher number of posts on here than what will be my full time intention. Don’t go either AWOL or all excited on me thinking this is going to be the norm ~ it’s definitely not! We’re wrapping up with the Beach House this week, and we have a photo shoot scheduled for this Thursday. This means that the reveal of these past couple months of work will start next Monday!
SO, this week will be furniture and project makeovers, the headboard how-to, and a little snip-it of beauty and health. Are you ready?
(this has to be the worst room I’ve ever taken a picture in! These will have to
suffice until next week when the entire room is revealed.)
I seriously wasn’t sure if I was going to paint this or not. I bought this dresser off of Craigslist,
and it has these DEEP distress marks. I just wasn’t sure how it would turn out.
After some awesome facebook fan advice (which I LOVE!),
I knew I should paint it. I thought I’d go light and white, but at the very
last minute, I mixed up ASCP Aubusson Blue and Graphite
for a custom mix (which I seriously don’t even know exactly – maybe 1/2 and 1/2?),
painted, distressed, and clear waxed.
I LOVE this color!!!
It’s just this really pretty, ashy navy looking blue.
Here was a fun little surprise – a hidden drawer!
And a close up of all these distress marks it had. It worked nicely to
distress the blue in exactly those spots.
I love how the original hardware works so well with it too!
Well, there you have it! Short and sweet. The first furniture makeover of the week.
Have a wonderful day!
I’d LOVE to have you follow along on
