This is it. This is the day. To say I’m excited is simply a HUGE understatement. If you are reading this and not already scrolling, I have to say, I’m impressed. Lol ;-)
This is the first day of an entire week of revealing all the work that has been put into the Beach House project over the past 3 months. I am not a trained interior designer, but many of you know how much I absolutely *love* mixing diy and design. It has been a fun challenge to decorate this house with a mix of new, used, and handmade items on a limited (but “average”) budget.
SO, are you ready to be inundated with a flood of awesome pictures?!!! We hired a very good friend of mine to come and take some pro HDR photos of the entire place, which will be specified under the pictures as *khdrr*.
Here’s how we’ll do this: each day I’ll highlight different rooms, showing before and afters, and then a recap on what exactly went into making the space come to life next week. Feel free to ask questions!
HERE WE GO!
The Main Living Room, Kitchen, and Dining Spaces
BEFORE:
(I just snapped these on my phone during our first walk-through.)
AFTER:
Come on in!
Remember the Goodwill Mirror Makeover???
I built the bench for the entryway.
Crate and Barrel twin sleeper sofa from Craigslist ~ SO comfy!!!
We had a lot of GREAT suggestions on the Facebook page for what to name this guy.
So without further ado, meet “Finley”. Thanks Joyce B.!
And I made that sign!!!
This was an awesome game table I found on Craiglist. The middle pops up to reveal a reversible game board and pieces for chess, checkers, and backgammon! I love it.
Tomorrow we’ll be moving onto the Lower Master Bedroom and Bathroom.
Thanks for stopping by today!
~Anneke~
I’d LOVE to have you also follow along on
Facebook, Pinterest, & Twitter!

Thank you Kristin! The way the tables fit was actually a happy accident. Funny how that works sometimes, huh?
Looks great! You did a great job! Love that view!! So jealous. My favorite parts are the beach sign and the game table.
Thanks so much Kristy! Even with these amazing pictures, it just isn’t the same unless you’re there. I really love the sign and game table too!!!
It looks so great and inviting and comfy!!!!! great job sister!!!
(do you have renters Aug 4-5th?)
I’ll double check with Muriel, but you can still access the beach.
This is the first time I’ve seen your beach house. Love this & yes I would like to live there too! Beautiful job, so chic and comfy!
